Craniosacral Therapy
CST can be useful to alleviate both current and old physical injuries that have remained unresolved. Physical symptoms such as a frozen shoulder for example, may stem from a long forgotten accident, postural imbalance or emotional holding due to grief perhaps, and commonly a combination of issues. Layers of release occur during treatment. Sometimes results are immediate and sometimes they take more time depending on the individual. All treatments are beneficial in their own right and integrate over a few days.
Treatments can be effective for stress related conditions, often bringing us into a state of deep relaxation, enabling us to resource ourselves. The practitioner works as a compassionate witness, like a mirror, allowing us to adjust patterns and holding encouraging balance and integration in our whole being. A session may bring about the feeling of being truly heard ( through the body ). It can engender a sense of profound peace and alignment helping with the restoration of our mental and emotional wellbeing. Each persons experience is unique.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle and non invasive therapy therefore it works beautifully with people of all ages and needs including babies, pregnant women, children, people with special needs, frail elderly people, all are welcome.
Sessions usually take place on a treatment couch, the client remains fully clothed. The practitioner uses a light touch to engage with and observe the qualities held in the body. Hand holds may be on the feet, head, spine and other relevant areas ensuring the person receiving treatment is comfortable at all times.
The practitioner is guided by the individuals own system and pace enabling an unfolding, unwinding and release of tensions held encouraging more rhythm and flow. CST supports the client's inherent healing processes to address tensions , trauma and shock held within the body. It works on the physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels concurrently.
As CST works through enhancing our core wellbeing it can therefore help with a spectrum of conditions including physical, mental and emotional, trauma, illness and imbalances.
Working on this profound level can also be used for ongoing personal development and enhancing quality of life.
When coming for a session please wear comfortable clothes and if possible plan some relaxing time for the evening after the treatment. Occasionally people may feel symptoms more intensely in the following 24 hours which then passes. Most people feel relaxed and have a good sleep.
